Bach’s Lunch Lecture: Frequencies and Experiments

April 6, 2023 @ 12:10 pm - 12:50 pm

In this lecture on Thursday, April 6, Eric Klaxton will discuss the influence of minimalism on ambient and electronic music. Looking at the work of Reich, Riley, Aphex Twin, Autechre, among similar artists, we will explore the threads that connect them and the qualities that make each unique.

One week later on Thursday, April 13, please join us for a concert featuring Rhegos, the electro-acoustic duo of Eric Klaxton (keyboards) and Richie Smith (guitar). The duo will perform original music inspired by the minimalist, ambient, and electronic music traditions. To learn more about Rhegos, visit rhegos.bandcamp.com.

Bach’s Lunch programs are free and open to the public, and take place from 12:10pm to 12:50pm on the first and second Thursdays of each month, October through June, in the Music School’s Recital Hall, 23 Wall Street, downtown Concord. No need to RSVP – just show up!

At this time, masks are optional in the building. Please visit our Covid webpage for more details on our safety protocols.

The Bach’s Lunch Series is sponsored by The Timothy and Abigail B. Walker Lecture Fund.
