Week 3: August 7 – 11, 2023
Three age-based cohorts (grades 1-2; 3-4; and 5-6) rotate through three arts activity periods, learning skills and creating musical, dance, and visual art pieces. A healthy dose of indoor and outdoor games, breaks, and lunchtime provides plenty of fun and creates strong friendships.
We are also accepting applications for Leaders in Training (LIT) and Counselors in Training (CIT) positions for all three weeks of camp. LITs are students entering grades 7-9, and receive 50% off camp tuition. CITs are students entering grades 10 and above, and work as volunteer interns whose hours can be counted toward community service. If your student is interested in this opportunity, please contact Creative Arts Camp Director Heather Bigelow Hearne at missheatherb40@gmail.com or call 603-228-1196.
Instant Folk Ensemble Workshops
Open to intermediate musicians, ages teen through adult. All folk instruments welcome.
Saturdays, July 8, 15, 22, and 29, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Sign up for one, some, or all!
Join forces with musical friends and form a pop-up folk ensemble! For part of this two-hour workshop, we will split into two groups (backup and melody), and learn a tune, with coaching from CCMS folk faculty members. Then we’ll come back together and work as a team, along with both faculty leaders, to come up with an arrangement of the tune and enjoy playing it as a group. Whether or not you’ve never played folk music or participated in an ensemble before, we hope you’ll join the band!
Faculty coaches:
July 8 – Liz and Dan Faiella
July 15 – Audrey Budington and Dan Faiella
July 22 – Liz Faiella and Zeb Cruikshank
July 29 – Audrey Budington and Zeb Cruikshank
