Songweavers Open Sing
September 13 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Songweavers is New Hampshire’s original women’s community chorus, open without audition to women and teens and directed by Peggo Horstmann Hodes. Based on the belief that everyone can sing, chorus members learn songs by rote, in the African-American tradition of call and response; music-reading skills are not a prerequisite. Songweavers rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 – 8 pm. The repertoire includes music from many ethnic traditions. The singing is predominantly a cappella, although drums and other instruments are often used as accompaniment. The theme for the fall 2022 semester will be Tending the Spark.
Are you interested in joining Songweavers this fall? Come join us for a FREE Open Sing on Tuesday, September 13 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the Community Room. Women of all ages are welcome. No need to rsvp– just show up!
New or returning Songweaver chorus members can register for the fall semester or full year by clicking here.
