Bach’s Lunch Concert: We Dream a World

The soprano trio Trillium, comprised of Jane Berlin Pauley, Hannah Schramm Murray, and Peggo Horstmann Hodes, will join with pianist Calvin Herst to present a concert entitled “We Dream A World.” The concert will feature songs written by African American women composers from spirituals to the present day. Some of the composers include Margaret Bonds, best known for her arrangements of spirituals and collaborations with Langston Hughes, Fanny Price, the first African-American woman to have a symphony played by a US major orchestra, and contemporary composers Jacqueline Hairston, a prolific composer and arranger, and Andrea Ramsey, an ASCAPlus award winner. The concert will include spirituals, solo art songs, and trios.

This concert will be presented live on the Recital Hall stage.

Masks are required for all audience members for this concert.
