Peter Furlong

Peter Furlong (voice) “A magesterial tenor…” is how The New York Times’ Anthony Tommasini described Peter Furlong’s voice. An accomplished Heldentenor with dark hues and powerful ring to his voice, Peter has appeared to plaudits on stages around the world including Germany, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, and the USA. Upcoming performance is as Siegfried with Berlin Wagner Group in November of 2022. His recent engagements include two concerts with Berlin Wagner Group in July of 2022, the roles of Siegmund in Die Walküre in February 2020 in Toronto and Siegmund, Adam in Der Vogelhändler, and Max in Der Freischütz in Berlin. As a teacher, Peter is very much in demand. He has been teaching voice for 17 years in a fun, motivating, educational, and highly effective way and is passionate about helping students succeed by giving them confidence and core strength through the study of solid technique and interpretation. Peter is also very much in demand as a concert soloist for orchestra and for Liederabend concerts with appearances in Belgium, Italy, the USA and is the founder of the acclaimed Berlin Wagner Group which offers singers the opportunity to study, rehearse and perform a Wagner role with a full cast. You can find Peter on the critically acclaimed recording of Das Lied von der Erde, which is of Mahler’s own version for piano and as Don Gomez in Weber’s Die Drei Pintos (completed by Mahler) from Wexford Festival Opera.
