Art Teacher (part-time, summer camp)

Position: Art Teacher – Creative Arts Camp (Full-Time, Two Weeks)
Location: Concord Community Music School, Concord, NH
Dates: July 20–24 and July 27–31, 2026
Hours: 8:45 am – 4:30 pm
Compensation: $1290 per week

Concord Community Music School (CCMS) seeks a creative, patient, and enthusiastic Art Teacher to join our collaborative faculty for a two-week, full-day summer arts camp serving children ages 6–14. This multidisciplinary camp features rotating sessions in art, music, and dance, giving students joyful opportunities to explore creativity, build confidence, and express themselves through multiple art forms. This is a wonderful opportunity to teach in a vibrant community arts organization that values artistic excellence, inclusion, collaboration, and student-centered learning.

About the Role

The Art Teacher will design and lead engaging, process-based visual arts experiences using a variety of media, aligned with weekly camp themes. Campers will share their work in an informal end-of-week performance and art display celebrating their creativity. Art supplies are available onsite, and an additional supply budget is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Design and teach developmentally appropriate, creative art projects for children ages 6–14
  • Collaborate with the Camp Director, Dance Movement Therapist, and Music Teacher to align projects with camp themes and end-of-week showcases
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and joyful classroom environment
  • Participate in weekly culminating performances and exhibitions
  • Communicate and collaborate with fellow faculty throughout camp to support student needs

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching art to children ages 6–14
  • Patient, flexible, and creative teaching style
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning profiles and needs preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

The Concord Community Music School is a community arts organization with a mission of artistic excellence and access for all.
