Position: Art Therapist – Adaptive Creative Arts Camp (Part-Time, Half-Day)

Hours: 8:30 am – 1:30 pm
Compensation: $780 stipend for the week
Concord Community Music School (CCMS) seeks a compassionate, creative and flexible art therapist to join our collaborative faculty for a one-week adaptive summer camp serving children ages 6-13 with a range of abilities and support needs. This half-day program features rotating sessions in art, music, and dance, offering campers joyful opportunities for self-expression, connection, and growth through the creative arts. This is an exciting opportunity to teach in a vibrant community arts organization that values artistic excellence, inclusion, collaboration, and student-centered learning.
About the Role
The Art Therapist will design and facilitate process-based art experiences that support each child’s strengths, communication styles, and creative voice. Campers will share their artwork in a celebratory, informal “show and tell” at the end of the week. Art supplies are available onsite, with an additional supply budget provided.
Responsibilities
- Design and lead developmentally appropriate, adaptive, and process-focused art experiences
- Collaborate with the Camp Director, Music Therapist, Dance Movement Therapist, and paraprofessionals before and during camp
- Create a welcoming, inclusive environment that supports campers’ social-emotional growth, creativity, and self-expression
- Participate in an informal end-of-week sharing event with campers and families
Qualifications
- ATR-BC preferred
- Experience working with children with diverse learning profiles, including neurodivergent individuals and those with disabilities
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Patience, flexibility, creativity, and a warm, child-centered teaching approach

The Concord Community Music School is a community arts organization with a mission of artistic excellence and access for all. More than 50 teaching artists work with 1400 students weekly, age 6 months to 93 years, in lessons, early childhood classes, ensembles, choruses and community partnerships with human service agencies, schools and healthcare providers.
