Directors: Kathryn Southworth and Susan Papinsick
Meets on Tuesdays, 7:00-8:15 PM
Formerly known as “The Canterbury Singers”, the group has steadily expanded its origins from Shaker music to include folk, swing, novelty, and gospel. Our new name reflects an even more inclusive selection of styles, from centuries-old classics to the Beatles! Music reading ability not required; sessions will include lots of “joyful noise” as well as tips for improving essential musical and physical vocal skills. Performance opportunities will be offered but are optional for participants.
Do you love to sing?
Whether you are a seasoned vocalist or haven’t sung since childhood, a welcoming musical community is waiting for you. Voices for Joy is a non-auditioned chorus designed for teens and adults (ages 16+) focusing on the camaraderie of community singing and sharing the magic of music.
We will learn by ear and/or by note, explore the full gamut of musical styles, and share your passion alongside other lively adult ensembles.
No auditions. Just pure musical joy!
