Concord, N.H.—Jazz up your January at the Concord Community Music School! The Music School’s January programs and events will feature a jazz-themed Bach’s Lunch concert, a Jazz Department student showcase, and the return of Jazz in January, the Music School’s cabaret-style evening event. The stellar lineup of jazz artists includes Music School faculty members and a special guest artist, singer and trumpet player Andrea Capozzoli.

CONCORD, N.H.—The groovy sounds of jazz, funk, and boogaloo are the theme for the next two installments in the Bach’s Lunch Series of lectures and concerts at the Concord Community Music School.
On Thursday, January 7, Music School Jazz Department faculty member Matt Langley will give a lecture titled “Funk ’n’ Boogaloo? Who Knew?” The following week, on January 14, the jazz trio Bangkok Disco, featuring Music School Jazz Department faculty member Tom Robinson on piano, Music School alumnus Scott Kiefner on bass, and guest artist Jared Steer on drums, will give a concert titled “Get in the Groove: Funk, Boogaloo, & Jazz.” Bach’s Lunch programs are free and open to the public, and take place from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. on the first and second Thursdays of each month in the Music School’s Recital Hall, 23 Wall Street, downtown Concord.

CONCORD, N.H.— The public is invited to attend and participate in the Concord Community Music School’s annual Piano and Voice Workshops, January 4-8, 2016, at the Music School, 23 Wall Street, Concord. All workshops are free.
Workshop topics include sightreading, ear training, rhythm, phrasing, and stage deportment. All ages and musical abilities are invited to participate, and observers are welcome.
