Join Concord Community Music School for a stellar evening of classical and jazz music on May 5, when alumni musicians return for a multi-genre Gala Alumni Concert kicking off the Music School’s 32nd Anniversary Weekend festivities. The concert and reception will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at the Concord Community Music School Recital Hall, 23 Wall Street in downtown Concord.
Music School alumni Elizabeth Blood, piano, Courtney Bonifant, viola, Peter Lehmann, piano, Chris Veilleux, saxophones, and Phil Sargent, guitar, will present music of Bach, Schumann, Ravel, Bill Evans, and jazz standards and originals. These performers represent some of the most active performing musicians and teachers in the Boston, Cleveland, and northern New England music scenes, and reflect more than 20 years of Music School alumni, from the 1990s to 2016. A reception will follow the concert. Blood, Bonifant, and Lehmann will perform in solo and duo sets in the first part of the program. Then, Veilleux and Sargent will joined by their musical colleagues Jerry Sabatini, trumpet, John Funkhouser, piano, and Mike Connors, drums; together, these five spirited musicians make up the leading 5-piece Boston band Sonic Explorers/Camel's Back. Jazz piano alumnus Michael Sink will provide music for the reception.
Tickets: $20 adults, $15 students & seniors
