CONCORD, N.H.—Concord Community Music School voice student Nathan Smith was selected to perform in the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) All-National Honor Choir in Nashville, TN, following a nationally competitive audition process.
 
The choir performed in a gala concert celebrating music education and the arts at the historic Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN on October 28, as part of the the 2015 NAfME National In-Service Conference.

CONCORD, N.H.—The festive tradition of carol singing is the theme for the next two installments in the Bach’s Lunch Series of lectures and concerts at the Concord Community Music School.

On Thursday, December 3, Hannah Schramm Murray, Chair of the Music School’s Voice Department, will give a lecture titled “Caroling: A Sharing of Community Traditions.” The following week, on December 10, the soprano trio Trillium, comprised of Peggo Horstmann Hodes, Hannah Schramm Murray, and Jane Berlin Pauley will join with pianist Calvin Herst for a concert titled “Sleigh Ride!: Old & New Christmas Favorites.” Bach’s Lunch programs are free and open to the public, and take place from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. in the School’s Recital Hall, 23 Wall Street, downtown Concord.

CONCORD, N.H.—Celebrate the season with an evening of holiday music and folk favorites! The Concord Community Music School invites you to take part in what has become a popular holiday tradition: the annual Holiday Folk Concert featuring Susie Burke and David Surette with Kent Allyn. The concert is scheduled for 7:30 pm, Saturday, December 12, in the Music School’s Recital Hall at 23 Wall Street in Concord.

CONCORD, N.H.—Three Concord Community Music School voice students received top honors at the National Association of Teachers of Singing 2015 Granite State Student Auditions, which were held at the Music School earlier in November .

 

Tyler Shore and Gracie Kontak were awarded first and second place in the Upper High School division. Olivia Kinhan was also one of the six selected finalists, who all performed in the final round. All three students study with Hannah Schramm Murray, chair of the Music School’s Voice Department.
