CONCORD, N.H.—Bringing a broad range of experience including numerous performances with orchestras, fifteen years of teaching, and appearances with Josh Groban, Ben Folds, and the Transiberian Orchestra, violinist Bethany Landby Stephan is joining the faculty of the Concord Community Music School to teach in the Suzuki Violin Program.

CONCORD, N.H.—Bookended by toe-tapping, folk-infused concerts, the first ever Fall Fiddle Festival at the Concord Community Music School will feature the genre-defying band Fugue Mill, a stellar lineup of fiddlers, a jam-packed day of workshops and sessions, and a toe-tapping evening concert of Irish, Quebecois, Scandinavian, and Old-Time fiddle music.

CONCORD, N.H.—Registration is now open for the Concord Community Music School’s fall semester. Whether you’re looking to add your voice to a chorus, take up the oboe, play the drums, or join a ukulele ensemble, the Music School offers a wide range of opportunities for students of all ages and levels to pursue their musical interests. 

Offerings include private lessons and ensembles, as well as early childhood programs, music therapy programs, and choruses.

CONCORD, N.H.—The Concord Community Music School is proud to announce that two Music School voice students, GraceAnn Kontak and Tyler Shore, have earned top honors in a musical theater competition sponsored by the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).

Shore and Kontak’s stellar musical theater performances in the NATS National Student Auditions have won them a place in the live national semifinal rounds, which will take place in Chicago this summer.

Before heading to Chicago, the two will perform a public recital featuring a variety of musical theater selections, including the three pieces that each will be auditioning with in Chicago in July. The concert will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21 at the Concord Community Music School, 23 Wall Street in downtown Concord. This event is open to the public. There is no charge for tickets, and donations will be warmly accepted. All donations will go toward helping defray the students’ expenses as they travel to compete in Chicago.

CONCORD, N.H—Music for reed instruments will be showcased in the next two installments in the Bach’s Lunch Series of lectures and concerts at the Concord Community Music School.On Thursday, June 2, bassoonist and contrabassoonist Margaret Phillips, will give a lecture titled “Contrabassoon 101.” The following week, on June 9, Music School faculty members Stefani Burk, oboe, Stephanie Ratté Jenkins, clarinet, and Maria Isaak, bassoon, will present a concert titled “Music of Canteloube, Martinu, & Tansman.” Bach’s Lunch programs are free and open to the public, and take place from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. in the Music School’s Recital Hall, 23 Wall Street, downtown Concord.
