African Drumming and Dance with Grace and Lindsey Schust
Come learn the rhythms and songs of West Africa in this exciting evening of drumming, dancing, and singing led by Music School percussion faculty members Grace and Lindsey Schust. We’ll present an overview of basic hand drumming technique, followed by an introduction to Lamba, the rhythm, dance and song of the djeli (traditional musicians and oral historians of West Africa). A limited number of drums are available upon request (provided free of charge by Timbre Drums and CCMS). To reserve a drum for the workshop, e-mail Grace or Lindsey at: timbredrums@gmail.com .
